Nerf Now!! - Angela, Anne-Marie, and Crystal Maiden

There are many webcomics out there about gaming, but there's only one drawn by a Brazilian with a fondness for genderbending and smut.  At least, I think there is.  Could be interesting if there was another.

Nerf Now!! was originally a spoof series about Team Fortress 2, but now covers a wide variety of games.  The general focus of the series is lampooning topical video game news/releases/updates, along with whatever else the author feels like drawing at the time.  Usually this will involve one or more cute female characters and if it's a game without a female characters, one will be provided via gender bending.  Because that's what the author generally feels like drawing.

There really isn't a consistent "main character" of Nerf Now with the exception of the author avatar, but he's a man size sentient purple tentacle so he doesn't really count for this blog.  However there are a number of lovely female characters that rotate through the series, so we'll be covering a few this update. (first comic)

Angela
Angela, a.k.a. "Engie," is the female version of the Engineer from Team Fortress 2.  She knows her way around a wrench and can use it as both a construction tool and combat weapon in equal favor.  After awhile she becomes one of the first host/main characters of the series along with the author insert character, Jo the Tentacle.  And yes, a girl and a tentacle can live under the same house without "that" happening.  Probably anyway...

Wait 'till you see her reaction to the ending.

"Draw me like one of your webcomic girls."

Engie along with Alek, the female version of the Heavy from TF2.

Anne-Marie
Anne-Marie is the female version of the Spy from TF2 and later becomes one of the main characters along with Alek (the female Heavy), Morgan (the female Demoman), and Jane (the female Soldier.)  Anne-Marie is what one might call an "attention whore" and has no problems tweaking her persona or indulging in shameless fanservice in order to gain subscribers.

Crystal Maiden
Crystal Maiden is a character from the video game series DOTA 2 who makes a few appearances in Nerf Now!!  In the comic she's portrayed as outgoing and maternal (due to her role as a "support" class in DOTA 2) and she gets a couple of barefoot moments.

Too poor to even afford boots.  It's a DOTA thing apparently.

Misfile - Cassiel

Third to plate is:

Cassiel
Cassiel is an angel who is part of the same branch as Rumsiel, the angel who caused the celestial misfile in the first place.  She is also his ex girlfriend as well as Lucifer's niece, meaning she is literally of the devil's blood.  While she is still a member of the heavenly beuracracy, unlike her uncle, like him she still has a penchant for pettiness and causing mischief.  Luckily most of her attempts either backfire or are laughably ineffective.

Unlike the other angels currently living in/visiting Tempest, Cassiel has a human disguise which she uses on a regular basis.

Also just to let you all know I'm going to be taking Thanksgiving off so there won't be any update next week.  However you can expect a bonus update along with the regular update on the week following, which will also be the last Misfile post.

Misfile - Emily

Continuing the month of Misfile next up it's:

Emily McArthur
The co-protagonist of series, Emily is a bit more mature than Ash due to essentially being a college girl stuck in a highschool girl's body.  Originally on the fast track to Harvard, now that she's been given a chance to relive two years of her life she's begun to wonder if an Ivy league education is really what she wanted.  Although nowhere near the level of Ash and his/her peers, Emily has developed an interest in racing.

Newman - Emaline

Hmmm.  Good thing I decided to check before I went to bed as it appears mah blog's auto-update is acting persnickety.  Well anywho, time for an update!

---

Before the current run of Newman there was a version the artist did where Newman had a different partner and had some sort of destiny as the ultimate hero who must sacrifice everything in order to save the world.  Sadly the series was never completely finished but is referenced to in the modern run of Newman.  (comic vault)

Emaline
Emaline is a fairy and Newman's partner during the first run of the comic.  The penultimate antagonist was directly responsible for the death of her father and she seeks to stop him.  Newman cared deeply for her and towards the end even proposed to her but for whatever reason it didn't work out.

Newman - Gwen

Imagine if you will a modern day fantasy world where gnomes, elves, wizards, and so on all live in a city that could pass for present day Chicago.  The days of knights in shiny armor and high adventure are gone but monsters, fell beasts, and abominations of nature still remain.

Enter the Creature Removal Department, or the C.R.D. for short, a government agency tasked with keeping the people safe from monsters.  Two of the best agents of the C.R.D. are Newman, a cynical gnomish sword user with a standoffish attitude but a heart of gold, and Gwen, drow sharpshooter skilled at sniping monsters with arrows and Newman with snark.  Despite their differences though the two make an excellent monster fighting duo and good thing too.  For the land of modern day fantasy is still full of much weirdness that will not go down without a fight.  (first comic)

Gwen
No further introduction needed really.  But since I abhor wasted space, let's go over a bit more about Gwen and by extension Newman.  She and the titular gnome are partners in the C.R.D. and after the first chapter they're also a couple.  Gwen at times has difficulty with her drow heritage, especially in the case of Newman as drow genetics/courtship rituals means that technically Newmann is her quite literally her "love slave."  Not that he seems to mind that much.   Gwen also has the quirk of dressing up Newman in frilly dresses 'cause she thinks he looks cute in them.

Do NOT try to mess with Gwen and run away.

The old drow ceremonial armor comes in hand on Halloween.

Everblue - Luna

Everblue the webcomic takes place in a world of seemingly endless ocean, where human civilization is limited to numerous floating cities that are themselves confined to a long belt of ocean that stretches from the north to south polls.  Beyond this belt is the titular Everblue, an unexplored expanse from which no explorer has ever returned.

However, when a young shipwright meets a happy go lucky drifter after his boat crashes into the docks (through no fault of his (mostly)), events are set into motion that will force the shipwright from her home and the two of them on an adventure to explore the Everblue.  However much can happen in an endless ocean and it is unknown if that which awaits them is scarier than that which already pursues them.  (first comic)

Luna
Before she met Ten, aka happy go lucky drifter, Luna was just an ordinary shipwright.  Okay that's not entirely true as she's also has a hobby of exploring the long untouched submerged sections of the city contrary to religious taboo and she's constructed a boat built around lost technology.  But other than that, not so inordinate.

One of the things that makes this series so great for foot lovers is that Luna is perpetually either wearing sandals or just plain going barefoot.  And it's not uncommon for the artist to show her going from a state of the former to the latter.

And then there was...a flashback!  As it turns out sandals and bare feet have pretty much been Luna's default choice since as long as she remembers.
